PictoBlox 10 brings block instructions to more Arduino devices
Arduino has announced PictoBlox 10 support for the two UNO R4 models and the Alvik robot. Instead of typing code, users arrange ready-made instruction blocks; a project could turn on a light when it detects a hand nearby. Version 10 is currently offered as an Alpha, or experimental, build.

Arranged instruction blocks using a nearby-hand signal from a sensor to switch on a light.

A program is a set of instructions for a task. Each PictoBlox block represents an instruction, and arranging the blocks sets their order. In the light example, a sensor detects the approaching hand and the program tells the light to turn on.
Devices and version limits
The 22 October announcement names UNO R4 WiFi, UNO R4 Minima and Alvik. The UNO models are small boards carrying electronic parts that execute instructions and control connected devices. The vendor’s download page labels version 10 for Windows and macOS as Alpha; its listed Linux version is 9.2.1.
